I have issues with the going to the library. Aside from the fact that I never return my books on time and end up paying late fees, I just really love the feeling of a new book that's all mine.
Then there are the germs, and the fact that hundreds of people have touched, slept with, and possibly sneezed on the very book that I'm holding. =)
But yesterday morning, I decided it was high time I get started on Peace Like A River for the Hoochee Book Club.
I was driving by the library... so I told myself that if they had a copy, I had to check it out and read it. Well they had one copy that I now hold in my hands at this very moment.
I haven't cracked it open yet, but my goal is to start today. If I can make it through the book and successfully return it without paying any overdue fees, then this might be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

I have the same problem with getting books back on time. I had a $34 fee one time!!!! All kids books.
I am at about the half way point. I really like the book. There are lots of biblical references - which is cool and very believable, real characters.
Enjoy - and try not to think about the germs:)

Haha...I don't have issues with me reading books from the library, but my kids...I used to take Hudson to the library and we'd check out board books (before I had Walker) and before I let him read them, I would use those hand sanitizing wipes and clean each page. I kinda like the thought of reading a book that many other people have also read. I do however have trouble returning books on time. Right now, I cannot find the last book in the Twilight series that I checked out from the library in December, so that's a bunch of money!

Thats funny. I love the smell of a library book. Its nostalgic or something. But I do always have a library fee. Recently I started putting the due date in the calendar on my phone so I don't miss it.

I LOVE my library - you can reserve your books online and pick them up at the drive through window. :) I am really bad about late fees though, so I bet they love me even more than I love them!

I love to read, but I can't afford to fund my habit. There are books that I want to keep, so I buy it at the bookstore. Everything else I buy at a used bookstore. I can sell it back for store credit when I'm done. Also, I am a big believer in passing books around to/from my friends. Now that I am in Vegas I have lost my book trading friends though.
Hope the library works for you. I'd never remember to return it.

Don't forget - how many people have taken that book to the bathroom... GROSS!

I am such a germophobe, but apparently my frugality is way stronger than my germophobia, because I always try to find a book at the library before I buy it. In fact, unless it's a book I know I like (which usually means I've already read a library copy), I have to force myself to buy it. I love a used book store, though; it's where all my classics copies are purchased.

Fortunately, my library does not chage late fees, at least not yet. Otherwise, I'd be SOL.
I hope you reach your goal.
